FFXV - Ignis/Prompto

I love the contrasts between these two - polished suit vs punk uniforms, poised vs awkward, restrained vs unbridled enthusiasm, raised in the palace vs completely new to all of this, and, well, size - as well as the dorky sense of humor they seem to have in common. I love the moments when Ignis gets goofy and the moments when Prompto gets serious, and I like to see them reacting to those qualities in each other!

• In some kind of happier world, Ignis is tasked with getting Prompto's manners, dress, and dancing up to snuff for an important royal event (totally cool to throw in background Luna/Noctis here if you want a wedding as an excuse, or handwave he's gotta be there for some reason) and as a result they end up spending a lot of time together and grow some feelings. (shopping montage??? shopping montage!!!)


• Making a life together, post-WoR. As you can tell by my fic likes I am extremely weak for what I guess you could call homesteading for lack of a better word? Building or refurbishing a house, getting a settlement up and running, improving their surroundings as a symbol for the growth of their relationship and their recovery from grief... Love it. I like the idea of them allowing themselves a quiet retirement somewhere far away from everything. Maybe they can take over the chocobo post or something.


• Hurt/Comfort - Yes, this is a trope, not a prompt, whoops. FFXV - Noctis/Prompto

I love how much these two love each other! It means so much to Noctis to have someone like Prompto in his life, and Prompto worked so hard to feel worthy of being that person! They fit together the way only best friends can, but there are still secrets and insecurities and jagged edges in both of them to provide conflict and keep the ship fresh.

• Mediafic / Social Media - I LOVE the trope of 'famous person's relationship is outed to the media against their will, now they and their loved ones must deal with it.' Give me Noctis' resentment about having this otherwise untouched-by-royalty part of his life intruded on! Give me Prompto's angst about having his right to be in Noctis' life put on trial-by-internet! Give me the ill-advised r/relationships post, the drag on TMZ, or the dramatic declaration of true love on instagram! 👑🍑🍆👀
• First time - I'd love to see some sweet fooling around and either first-time sex or heading toward it with these two. I love the dynamic of each of them having their own insecurities but being totally enamored of the other, and the idea of adding a sexual element to their relationship adding bumps to an otherwise smooth transition from best bros to boyfriends
• Royal Skip-The-Wedding - Who cares if it's a terrible idea? Noctis and Prompto elope under whatever circumstances, and then tell Regis/Ignis and Gladio/whomever. Their love cannot be stopped!

FFXV - Gladio/Prompto

• Gladio being the one to train Prompto after he's accepted into the Crownsguard, and giving him one-on-one sessions considering Prompto's closeness with Noct. Living up to Gladio's standards is difficult, but the praise? The praise is completely worth it. :D
  
• Gladio and Prompto are captured together; Gladio offers himself to be tortured in Prompto's place, and Prompto has to care for him afterward and while dealing with the fact that Gladio loves him enough to do that.
  
• An alternate universe where the Empire/Ardyn won, leaving Prompto and Gladio to head up the resistance while waiting for Noctis' return. (Only barely AU, I know!)
  
• Gladio's never been with a guy before and struggles to express his feelings for Prompto. To Prompto's quiet bafflement (or comedic misunderstanding?) he turns to ancient love poetry.
  
• The Crownsguard hosts a charity date auction and Gladio buys a date with Prompto as a joke (not a mean one; they're both in on it). The date turns out way better than either of them expected, somehow.

FF7R - Barret/Cloud

These two. THESE TWO. I love how Barret brings out the maximum of lil' shit in Cloud, I love the clash of forced apathy vs overwhelming passion for the cause, I love the slowly growing friendship and respect. They've got potential for hatesex (love it), potential for genuine but reluctant affection (love it!!), potential for one growing into the other while they refuse to admit that it has... Good stuff, good stuff.

• Anything that extends the period Cloud was working with Barret's Avalanche cell in Sector 7. Extra missions with just the two of them, hanging out and catching each other's eye at Seventh Heaven (and subsequent possibly-drunken makeouts?), anything where they develop a sort of Status Quo together before things get really wild. This would be a great setup for casual (or angry) sex turning into feelings.
  
• I really loved the optional "resolution" scene with Barret (here) where he's surprised that talking things out with Cloud makes him feel better. I'd love to see a continuation of this dynamic with Barret going to Cloud with other feelings problems and Cloud doing his awkward best to help (even when it turns out he *is* the feeling).
  
• Sex pollen and/or sex pollen aftermath would be fantastic with these two. I love it as a mechanism to force characters to reckon with feelings; anything from light-hearted almost-immediate acceptance to a more serious take welcome, though I'd prefer it if the pollination were accidental rather than arranged by a third party.
  
• The two of them being captured together (for longer and more directly than what happened in canon) and forced to bond as they work to escape. Angst (flashbacks for Cloud? Physical h/c for Barret's arm going without maintence?) and triumph and "don't worry, I'll get you out of here!"
  
• One or both of them accidentally confesses their love in the middle of a loud public argument. :o
  
• One or both of them being shocked to bump into one another at a gay bar in the slums.

I'm flexible. (I haven't played the PS5 version or the Yuffie DLC yet, though, so please avoid spoilers specific to those!)

Love me a fucked-up hero and villain ship, what can I say. As with Aerith/Sephiroth, I'm up for both more positive, redemptive directions where possible as well as a decent straight into iddy darkfic, depending on your preferences. (RE: Clerith and Cloti - I don't ship either but am okay with references to past feelings for each other.)

• An AU where weird-knowledge-of-the-future!Sephiroth manages to find and get Cloud on his/Jenova's side after the cliffside and before Cloud reaches Tifa/Midgar, when he's still fairly out of it. Cue a lot of co-villain shenannigans/being hot and evil together while in the mean time Cloud's personality and memories are trying to break through.
• A more conventional relationship during Cloud's trooper days (or maybe even something taking place in his head/with his invented memories, when Cloud was "in" SOLDIER). Something playing with the angst of Cloud's insecurity vs the added public spotlight that being with or even around Sephiroth in those days would bring would be fabulous, as would playing up the (relatively small) age gap.
• Status Effects Made Them Do It or an kind of sex pollen, especially with focus on the aftermath and how it might change the way they see each other. Both relatively fluffy takes on this and dark ones very welcome.

FF7R - Aerith/Sephiroth

So here I was, minding my own business, never having considered this ship before, when Aerith glares up at this guy twice her height and (at this point) significantly more powerful and tells him he ain't shit everything about him is wrong. Reader, I was instantly smitten. I love the contrast of how human and alive Aerith's strength is, compared to Sephiroth's cold and alien nature. I love that they both seem to know more of what's going on than the player, and that they're set so strongly against each other. I also love the idea of her being able to save him and save the world that way, without making her ultimate sacrifice.

I'm down for a lot of different dynamics with them, too - anything from fluffy AUs and canon-fix-its to hatesex and non-con is A-OK with me! :3 (RE: Clerith and Zerith - I don't ship any of the three but am okay with references to past feelings for each other.)

• I'm a big fan of fix-its and timeloops, and of course Remake is ripe for that sort of thing. I'd love to see a take where they're trapped in a timeloop or keep getting reset by the Whispers while being the only ones to remember what's happening. They could start out with their canon enemies dynamic and make the enemies-to-lovers transition under the pressure and inability to get away from one another.
• I like the fact that both were under Shinra's control during part of their childhood and the idea of the two of them meeting in that context, as lonely experiments. I've often thought about AUs where Aerith remained in Shinra's custody and the two of them grew up alongside one another. Would she be a balancing influence on him? Would he drag her down into his madness?
  
  Related, I also love Aerith's joke about how maybe she was a SOLDIER and I'd love to see an AU where that is the case!
• Canon, but for some reason they're trapped somewhere isolated and have to work together in order to survive. Perhaps - perhaps - there is only one bedroll.

Breath of the Wild - Link/Zelda

Note: I haven't played Age of Calamity or any other Zelda games so I probably won't understand references to those unless they're explained in-story!

So I showed up to this fandom 35 years late with starbucks, but this ship grabbed me right in the Id. It's got sweetness, it's got lady/knight dynamics with a complex lady, it's got inevitable tragady and in the end it's got hope.

• First time/virginity loss after Zelda's failure at the Spring of Power - I just think it would be an interesting and sad time for them to get together, with her seeking comfort and him being strong for her.
• Post-canon exploration together - Link showing Zelda everything he's seen in-game and introducing her to new people, taking on Shrines together, rebuilding castle town and maybe even trying to make the castle livable again? I'm a sucker for anything where fixing up a house/town/country is a metaphor for a growing relationship.
• "I never know what he's thinking! It makes my imagination run wild, guessing at what he is thinking but will not say." (From Zelda's Dairy) Where exactly is that imagination running?? Either in a sexy way or in a "Zelda assuming Link's thoughts are X but they're actually Y causes problems"

Kingdom Hearts - Riku/Sora

Childhood OTP? Childhood OTP. I love both the sweetness of how dedicated they are to each other and the edge of jealousy and competition that comes from Riku's issues in the early games. I also love how atmospheric Destiny Islands itself is - the music, the iconic locations, the races and the various callbacks throughout the series.

Best! Trio! Ever! I love every component ship of these three and I love them together; I like how different each of their relationships with the others are but how they still make up this coherent little whole that's been through so much together. I like the sadness and the happiness, I love the familiarity between them, I like all the callbacks and nostalgia of them being the three people that have been there, trying to be together, since the very first game.

I just want them to be happy, man.

Compilation of FFVII - Zack/Cloud

Ah, Zack/Cloud. Two cute kids with dreams as big as their swords and a lot of determination beaten down by the world over and over again until it all ends in one dying young and leaving the other with severe psychological trauma. The potential for both early CC and intense angst of post-Nibelheim... /dreamy sigh. I love it all with these two.

Note: Feel free to integrate aspects of Remake, OG, Compilation, twenty year old fanon - whatever you're feeling in here; I'm familiar with everything but the PS5 version of Remake and not even a little picky. RE: Cloti, Clerith, and Zerith - they're all NOTPs for me, but I'm cool with acknowledgement of past feelings (and a past relationship in Zerith's case - I prefer Cloti/Clerith to never have gotten together at all, though of course they're important to each other).

• Zack being resurrected at any point in the timeline - early, pre-Mideel game is interesting considering Cloud's state of mind, but I'm also fascinated with the idea that waking up post-game in Edge would be like time traveling to a post-apocalyptic future for Zack. Either way I like the idea of Cloud having to deal with Zack's opinions of the man he's become and Zack still loving him.
  
• Cute outsider POV with mutual crushing happening when Cloud was in the infantry and Zack was a Second.
  
• For a horror take, anything set during the period where Hojo was experimenting on them. Zack and Cloud being used against one another, forced to watch as the other is tortured, or Hojo Made Them Do It, an AU where they end up turned into something monstrous, Both as party favors at a Shinra Trash Party ... there's a lot of dark possibilities there and I'm interested in all of them. Go nuts!
  
• Cloud's identity issues aren't a result of trauma and the Jenova Project; he's being possessed by Zack's tortured ghost out for revenge on Shinra and desperate to remain with the person he loved in life.

Avatar: The Last Airbender - Zuko

What is there to say about Zuko that hasn't already been said? I love his determination, I love his badassery, I love his awkwardness, I love his character arc... I love pretty much everything about him. He is Best Boy.

If you'd like to go in a shippy direction with any of these I ship Zuko/(Aged Up) Aang, Zuko/Sokka, Zuko/Mai, and I also like non/dubcon with Zuko/Zhao.

Note: I am not familiar with the comics and am only passingly familiar with Korra - if you go post-canon I'd prefer it to be only by 10-15 years and not into Old Man Zuko territory.

• Zuko was killed during the Agni Kai and now haunts the rest of the cast as a vengeful spirit - either seeking revenge against his father for his own death or still trying to carry out his canon mission.
  
• The Fire Nation is buried under approximately a billion war crimes going back a hundred years - some kind of location-based horror/Fire Nation gothic/bad spirit times dogging Zuko as he tries to rule honorably would be pretty interesting.
  
• On a happier note I love anything that gives this boy some emotional healing. Hugs, restful evenings by the turtle duck pond, hot springs with the love interest of your choice...

Crossover Fandom (Wandavision / Marvel 616) - Billy Maximoff & Billy Kaplan, Billy Maximoff & Teddy Altman

Note: I'm a little behind on comics - I haven't read anything with Billy or Teddy post-Empyre, though I'm aware of the general shape of where they're at in canon. I'm totally good with any era from the original flavor YA onwards.

Ever since WandaVision ended on *that* note I've been obsessed with the idea of this particular crossover. There's a ton of canon universe-crossing in Marvel 616 and Wanda's establishment as a Nexus being points toward it being equally possible in the MCU, so two versions of a character with the ability to peek across dimensions seems like a great setup.

• Billy & Billy - The thing I love best about this style of crossover is the ability for the viewpoint character to learn about themselves - Comics Billy getting a chance to see what growing up with Wanda, Tommy, and Vision might've been like for him and all the feelings that might potentially stir up in him could be interesting. Likewise it might inspire Show Billy to see himself as a full-fledged superhero with a boyfriend; he might idealize the experience enough to completely overlook Comics Billy's flaws.
  
• Billy & Teddy - on a more action-adventure-y note I love the idea of either of these two crossing universes to save the other. Maybe Teddy is somehow so tuned to Billy's ~mystical resonance~ that he calls out across a universe for help, or maybe Billy tries to use his powers to secure a rescue from wherever he is at the end of the show and ends up with a champion. Either way I'd love the chance for a different dynamic between the two of them (and maybe an adorable little kid crush...)
  
• Either/Both - During the show's timeframe Billy uses his powers to break the forth wall in the vein of various tween shows and ends up talking to the alternate universe version of himself and/or his future boyfriend about his weird sitcom problems. They give heartwarming but terrible advice!
